Can you imagine being this lady..just casually on your way to work..when you get an unexpected call. It’s from your child’s school. You casually pick it up, thinking it’s just probably a normal call from the principal informing you of an upcoming event…but this time it’s not. It’s your child’s principle. Calling you tell you there was a shooting at your baby’s school.
You pull over, and it slowly starts to sink in, you’re having trouble breathing, you are so confused. You start to scream questions into the receiver, and you make a U-Turn and speed back to the school. They won’t tell you much, not wanting to make you scream, but you can feel it, feel it, something happened.
"ARE THEY OKAY?!" you scream. "WHERE IS MY BABY? WHAT IS GOING ON?!"
The principle tells you not to panic, as you pull into the school parking lot, tears filling your eyes and you see hundreds of other cars speeding into the lot, you screaming into the phone begging to know what happened.
You run into the school, only to find out that it’s your child. Your child is not with his class. Your child is not with her teacher. YOUR CHILD is no where in sight. And then you hear the news. The news that you didn’t want to suspect. It’s your child. He’s gone. Killed. Shot.
Your life flashes before your eyes. Screaming. No Sound. Nothing makes sense. The world is spinning, everything is slowly going black.
NO. NO. NO NO NO. YOU REFUSE TO BELIEVE IT. NO. And you just sit there, screaming. But no one is there to comfort you.
It’s like your alone in a room, a room filled with thousands of people, yet no one is there. Not a single person.
Breaking down, feeling your life shread to pieces. But no one is there. And there’s nothing you can do to protect your baby anymore.
Your life slaps you straight in the face like a whirlwind. And that’s it. Your world has shattered.
